Matt is leaving.
Jul. 24th, 2009 | 07:23 pm
Forever.
No, not really, but he is leaving for an extended period of time. So here it is, his farewell bash, hisgo-the-hell-away going away party. Come wish our friend a fond adieu in a very inebriated manner.
Details are up on Facebook, along with some embarrassing photos of Matt.

Matt and I decided a while ago that our Changeling game has hit an appropriate pausing point. Mostly we decided this because one of our players announced he couldn't make time to play for the foreseeable future. And it appears, to us at least, that said player hates the game.
This completely blindsided us, and is a tricky obstacle we will eventually have to deal with. But for now we decided to just start a new game.
Deadlands, a western themed shoot-em-up adventure with monsters, mad-scientists and the occasional zombie, sounds like a hoot to me. Matt will be running this one solo, though we spent some time throwing ideas around for an opening the other night. I like that he considers me objective enough to help him kink out (mostly spoiler free) details of his story.
So far our party will consist of a gambler with minimal gun skills, a lawyer with moderate gun skills, a former sheriff with amazing gun skills, and a young lady who controls demons. *cough*
I had to scrap most of my beginning ideas for a character, because I kept remembering exactly which Clint Eastwood movie they came from. I finally decided on a character with enough horror in his background for my liking, but sidestepping enough cliches that someone can't point and go, "Hey, that's the dude from Quick and the Dead!"
Besides, if they did that I'd just be like, "Shows what you know. It's the dude from The Magnificent Seven. Douche."

We'll be comin' around the mountain...
Feb. 20th, 2009 | 03:06 pm
Barring my co-workers flaking out on our deal, I'll have next weekend off work and we'll be heading to see you weirdo mountain kids. And we'll have Joseph in tow.
And Matt in the trunk.
This is good.
A few days out of Charlotte will do me good, cause I think I'm going stir crazy. Or maybe just the ordinary crazy, I'm not sure. I pretty much go to work and hang out at home, which I'm normally fine with. I just need a change of scenery.
Anyway, Friday evening to Sunday midday we'll expect entertainment.
At this point Aubrey would normally tell you to lock up your daughters, but I'd really rather you didn't.

So yesterday...
Mar. 22nd, 2008 | 06:13 pm
Yesterday, former president Bill Clinton came to Thomas Street for a bite to eat.
Seriously.
Him and about 13 other people, 10 of whom were Service Agents. It was neat. I shook his hand, exchanged a few words and then went to cook his lunch. That's right, I cooked for the man.
He ate a veggie burger (no onions) with a side of potato salad. From this I glean that he and I are very similar in certain aspects of our lives. For instance, we both hate onions and love blowjobs.
I also ended up making lunch for the agents, which was weird cause they all had the exact same thing. This leads me to believe that they didn't have a choice in the matter and were never actually meant to enjoy their lunch. Occupational hazards, I suppose.
Also, that dude is tall.

I suggest you all try out this incredibly addictive game.

It's a lot of fun and has a pretty decent soundtrack.

What if '24' had taken place in 1994?
For you Matt. Notice his awesome haircut.
And...
The University of California halftime show.
Pure sweetness. Try to place those songs!
Enjoy.

Being cryptic.

I think I've figured out what I'll be for Halloween this year.
I won't disclose, but I can tell you that, once again, I'll not be nearly as sexy as Aubrey.
Also, do you like stories, but hate rummaging through countless pages trying to discern the so-called 'plot'? Want to get to the meat of the tale without the hassle of sitting or the fear of overusing your eyes?
Then try this out.

Beware! This could be you. You're just one die roll away from pretending to hump an elf (1:20 in).

Aubrey: Are you going to wor...
Me: FUCK NO!!! Woooo!
Got the weekend off. Aubrey and I are heading out to Polk County.
We are leaving in about 10 minutes, so prepare yourselves Morgan and Erin.

Though we are admittedly a week late, Aubrey and I saw Spider-Man 3 earlier this evening. Here are my thoughts.
